For the 2nd year in a row, PetroSolar Corporation (PSC), owner and developer of 50MWDC Tarlac Solar Power Plant, located in Central Technopark, Tarlac City, is the recipient of PEZA Outstanding Community Project Award for 2017. PetroSolar Corporation is a subsidiary of PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC), the renewable energy holding unit of publicly-listed and Yuchengco Group of Company (YGC) member PetroEnergy Resources Corporation (PERC). The PEZA Community Awards recognize companies within PEZA economic zones that have strengthened their relationship with the community through meaningful CSR projects. Since 2015 when it started operation of its solar power facility, PSC has embarked on an integrated and inclusive CSR program focusing on Health, Education and Livelihood Projects involving eleven (11) Barangays around Hacienda Luisita. This CSR initiative, which was also cited as Outstanding Community Project in 2016 from PEZA, is contributing to better private industry-local community partnership. The PEZA Outstanding Community Award for 2017 comes in the heels of other citations received by PSC from the Tarlac City Government, the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the company’s noteworthy contributions to education and environmental protection.
