PetroEnergy Launches Training Program for Teachers in Puerto Princesa, Palawan
April 30, 2011
Puerto Princesa, Palawan – PetroEnergy Resources Corporation organized a Training Program for the teachers of its adopted schools in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. These are Inagawan National High School, Marcelino A. Javarez National High School, and San Rafael National High School. This initiative is a significant component of PERC’s corporate social responsibility and commitment to helping public high schools improve in their services to the Filipino youth.
The three-day training was composed of teambuilding activities, a workshop on pedagogical shifts and best teaching practices facilitated by Engr. Raymond B. Monterey, and a seminar on reading intervention program presented by Prof. Jhona M. Niem.
This year’s Teachers’ Training Program held last April 28-30 at Asturias Hotel is the first project that PERC has pledged in the memorandum of agreement signed between the Company and the three (3) schools. PERC has tapped the assistance of Malayan Colleges Laguna, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mapua Institute of Technology to facilitate the training program. The training program was themed: “Empowering Teachers as Leaders and Lifelong Learners”.
