October 21, 2026, Manila – Yuchengco-led Maibarara Geothermal Inc. (MGI) received from the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC) the Top Compliance Award for the geothermal category during the WESM Compliance Officers (WCO) Summit 2026 held on October 20, 2026, in Rockwell, Makati City.

“Being No. 1 in WESM compliance among geothermal power producers under the Priority Dispatch category for the second consecutive year, reflects MGI’s commitment to reliable operations and responsible participation in the Philippine electricity market. The achievement is a result of the dedication and teamwork of the company’s operations, maintenance, engineering, and support personnel. We are honored to receive this recognition and remain committed to providing dependable renewable energy while maintaining the highest level of compliance,” declared Engr. Paul Elmer C. Morala, Vice President for Power Plant Operations of PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC), MGI’s parent company.

The PEMC Award recognizes MGI’s 20MW Maibarara-1 and 12MW Maibarara-2 plants’ outstanding compliance with the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) rules, particularly in accurately nominating its projected generation output, following real-time dispatch schedules, and consistently fulfilling market participation and reporting requirements.

For the second consecutive year, MGI’s plants have been honored by PEMC with the same prestigious top compliance award, reaffirming sustained commitment to excellence and consistent adherence to WESM compliance standards. This recognition also follows an award given by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to MGI last June 26, 2026 for its “exemplary operational performance and steadfast commitment to power system reliability”.
