SJGEC representatives PGEC AVP Yrel V. Ventura (3rd from left) and Andreana Cole R. Bravante (6th from right), together with PCOs of other PGEC companies, attended the awarding ceremony on May 20, 2026 during the 46th PCAPI National Annual Convention and General Assembly in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Yuchengco-led San Jose Green Energy Corporation (SJGEC) earned two major awards during the 46th General Assembly of the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines Inc. (PCAPI) held on May 20, 2026 in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. SJGEC's Agri-Photovoltaics Pilot Project emerged as champion in Environmental Success Story Awards category, while SJGEC Pollution Control Officer Andreana Cole R. Bravante was recognized as one of The Outstanding Pollution Control Officers (TOPCO) in the country.

PCAPI has more than 300 Pollution Control Officer members from more than 200 companies across different industries. PCAPI's Sustainability Awards recognize projects and professionals with outstanding achievements that promote pollution control, waste minimization, and implementation of effective environment management systems that go beyond compliance.

"On behalf of SJGEC and our shareholders PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC) and Japan's Kyuden International Corp. and Taisei Corporation, we thank the PCAPI for recognizing our environmental efforts and sustainability goals specifically on promoting the dual use of land for energy generation and agricultural production," says AVP for Environment and Community Relations Yrel V. Ventura. "We share this success with our partners in this endeavor, the Department of Energy (DOE), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), and the local government of San Jose, Nueva Ecija," adds Ventura.

Ms. Bravante's recognition as one of the country's Top Outstanding Pollution Control Officers further underscores SJGEC's commitment to environmental excellence, regulatory compliance, and responsible project development.

SGJEC's Agri-Photovoltaics Project clinched the top spot in the Environmental Success Story Award besting sixteen (16) other entries in the same category. The agrivoltaics project is a science-based sustainability pilot implementation within its 19.6MWDC San Jose Solar Power Project in Nueva Ecija. Under the pilot initiative, a total of 588 solar panels were elevated to heights of two to three meters to enable crop cultivation within a 2,750-square-meter demonstration area. In partnership with CLSU, parallel studies are being conducted to assess the effects of agrivoltaics on both solar power generation efficiency and agricultural crop yields, among other parameters.

The solar farm itself can generate 29 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity every year for the Luzon grid. The project demonstrates how renewable energy infrastructure and agricultural productivity can coexist sustainably on the same land area. It also highlights the value of collaboration between the private sector, academe, and government agencies in advancing innovative and inclusive sustainability practices.
