PetroGreen Awards Scholarship Grants to Mapúa Students in Davao

Yuchengco-led PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC) awarded scholarship grants to two deserving students of Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (MMCM) in Davao City. This aligns with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program We Power H.E.L.P. (Health, Education, and Livelihood Program) aimed at uplifting people and communities through sustainable projects.

“At PGEC, we believe in empowering young minds and enhancing talents and skills to produce lifelong learners to be productive and responsible members of their communities,” says PGEC AVP for Environment and Community Relations Yrel V. Ventura. “Thus, we are pleased to provide these scholarship grants, which hopefully will help the students pursue their academic and professional goals,” adds Ventura.

The scholarship grants awarded by PGEC will not only cover the full tuition fee of the students for the duration of their degree program, but will also offer opportunities for mentorship, industry exposure, and potential career paths in the field of renewable energy.

The scholarship certificates were ceremoniously awarded to Scottlene Faye Gayo, a B.S. Accountancy student and Alejandro Faustino II, a B.S. Electrical Engineering student last July 8, 2024, in Mapúa MCM campus. Gayo and Faustino will join three (3) scholars of PGEC’s parent company PetroEnergy Resources Corporation (PERC) who are currently studying in Mapúa MCM.

PGEC is the renewable energy holding unit of publicly-listed company PetroEnergy Resources Corporation (PERC). PGEC has investments in 32MW Maibarara Geothermal Power Project in Batangas, 50MW Nabas Wind Power Project in Aklan, and 70MWdc Tarlac Solar Power Project in Tarlac. PGEC is actively expanding its RE portfolio with new solar and offshore wind energy projects all over the country.
