ISUZU and PetroGreen Switch On Largest Rooftop Solar Facility in Laguna Technopark

Laguna/Manila (June 27, 2025). Yuchengco-led PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC) and ISUZU Autoparts Manufacturing Corp (IAMC) officially switched-on the 3.002 MWp solar rooftop power facility on June 26, 2025, in Laguna Technopark, Biñan, marking a significant step in the Philippine manufacturing sector’s transition to clean energy.

This project is also an important milestone as the IAMC Laguna plant is only the third Isuzu manufacturing unit in southeast Asia installed with an own-use rooftop solar facility" says IAMC President Takashi Ishikawa.

A leading automotive parts manufacturer and a subsidiary of ISUZU Motors Limited, Japan, IAMC is known for its high-quality components and commitment to innovation and sustainable eco-conscious manufacturing practices.

The significance of the rooftop solar project completion was highlighted by the presence in the switch-on ceremony of top Isuzu executives including Isuzu Motors Asia, Ltd President Mr. Nobuhisa Miyashita, Isuzu Engine Manufacturing Co. (Thailand) President Mr. Takeaki Saito, Isuzu Motors Ltd. Fujisawa (Japan) Plant General Manager Mr. Youhei Kato, and Isuzu Motors Ltd. Tochigi (Japan) Plant General Manager Mr. Seiji Mizutani.

The PetroGreen- financed and -built 3.002 MWp IAMC rooftop solar plant is the biggest such facility to-date in Laguna Technopark, Biñan. It is erected over IAMC’s four main buildings and uses over 4,000 units of 700MWp Trina PV panels and 19 units of Huawei 100/150 kw string inverters.

On July 23, 2024, IAMC and PGEC signed an agreement to install a 3.002 MWp solar rooftop power facility, consisting of 4,289 units of 700 Wp Trina solar panels and 19 units of Huawei 100/150kW string inverters. Including roof refurbishment and minor roof reinforcement, the solar installation was completed in seven months from start of site works. The facility was erected over IAMC’s four (4) main manufacturing buildings by PGEC’s EPC contractor Fravinz Enterprises, Inc.

PGEC President & CEO F. G. Delfin Jr. declared "This 3.002 MWp IAMC rooftop solar facility can supply 20% of IAMC’s annual power needs enhancing IAMC’s energy security and contributing to the Department of Energy’s energy resiliency and affordability goals. It can reduce carbon emissions by an average of ~3,000 tons of CO2 equivalent annually supporting Isuzu’s corporate environmental vision.
